TOO LATE, I LEARNT!

Life is a sincere teacher. It is always ready to teach us lessons, even if we are not interested and do not want to learn them. The relationships we entered, stayed in, or even ended teach us a lot. The irony is that most of the time, the writing is on the wall, but we prefer to look away finding it too harsh to accept. Too late in life I learnt many lessons which I would like to share with my readers.Looking back at my life as I have reached the threshold of old age, there are times when I wonder….. There are so many ifs and buts concerned! What would life have been if I had learnt my lessons on time? Maybe the face of my life would have been totally different (though I can not say better) today. Too late in life I learnt to take a stand. Often when I found myself in a confronting situation, I preferred to retreat instead of holding my grounds and fighting for what was right in my opinion. The coward inside me, feared the disapproval of the people I

Decisions

Wherever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision. Peter Drucker One of the most apt quotes from the foremost management guru’s of this century, it is very relevant to us,  for decision making is perhaps the toughest and most critical competencies that a human being has to have,  in order to progress. Your decision to read this blog now,  is the reason you have reached so far and now you have to make the decision to read more or to do something else.  Perhaps at this very moment you get a telephone call or a chat message, it is more likely that you will take a decision to focus on that, than to continue to read this. Notice that the distractions/ the temptations/ the alternatives are there are all moments and you and you alone take the important decision to succumb to them or prioritize your actions. Apart from distractions, many of us suffer from another dimension of decision making viz. Paralysis by Analysis. Fear of failure is the main culprit for this

Life is a miracle, don't let it slip away, Open your heart to others; give of yourself each day. Do the thingsyou dream about but don't have timeto start.   Pick a bouquet of flowers; show someone that you care, Be gracious and forgiving; life is never fair. [/color Hold on to your courage, you may need it down the road, We all have a cross to bear; it could be a heavy load. If you practiceall these things no matter where you roam, You may find both sun and rain, but you'll never feel alone.

WHAT IS MATURITY?

Maturity is the ability to control anger and settle  differences without violence or destruction. Maturity is patience. It is the willingness to pass up immediate pleasure in favor of the long-term gain. Maturity is perseverance, the ability to sweat out a project or a situation  in spite of heavy opposition and discouraging set-backs. Maturity is the  capacity to face unpleasantness and frustration, discomfort and defeat,  without complaint or collapse. Maturity is humility. It is being big enough  to say, "I was wrong." And, when right, the mature person need not experience the satisfaction of saying, "I told you so." Maturity is the ability to make a decision and stand by it. The immature spend their lives exploring endless possibilities; then they do nothing. Maturity means dependability, keeping one's word, coming through in a  crisis. The immature are masters of the alibi. They are the confused and the  disorganized. Their

If Life is a Game...These are the Rules

Life has often been compared to a game. We are never told the rules, unfortunately, nor given any instructions about how to play. We simply begin at "go" and make our way around the board, hoping we play it right. We don't exactly know the objective of playing, nor what it means to actually win. That is what Ten Rules for Being Human is all about. These are the guidelines to playing the game we call life, but they are also much more than that. These Rules will provide you with a basic spiritual primer for what it means to be a human. They are universal truths that everyone inherently knows but has forgotten somewhere along the way. They form the foundation of how we can live a fulfilling, meaningful life. Each Rule presents its own challenge, which in turn provides certain lessons we all need to learn. Every person on the planet has his or her own set of lessons to learn that are separate and unique from everyone else's, and these lessons,
